You can find the latitude and longitude of most cities and towns in the U.S., and major cities and some towns outside of the U.S., on Wikipedia. Downloading Google Earth just to find latitude and longitude is like using a hammer to make mashed potatoes or hunting squirrels with a .30-06…or some other more apt simile that someone put a little more thought into. My point is use the right tool for the right job.

1) download Google Earth
2) look up lagrande oregon (or any other place)
3) move the cursor to the spot you’re interested in
4) look at the bottom of the screen for Lat/Lon
5) punch in to GPS
check out the forums at http://www.geocaching.com for gps-nerd related stuff…
