    A combination of rasp in the throat, running vocals through a marshall (or any tube amp, guitar or bass whatever, for that matter) which causes them to break up and be sorta grainy, use of the diagphram muscle in the abdomen in combination with the rasp from the throat, and many say being a smoker helps and I’m pretty sure Matts a smoker. It just takes some screwing around, like I wanted to have that sing/scream Keith Buckley has and after some practice I still sound like me but I got it.
