The Need That Led To Concept 2 Rowing Machine
The need to extra develop their business came about to the Dressigacker brothers in 1980, after they were in the oar company for quite some time. At the start they had three additional products in the pipeline – wind surfing masts, cross country ski poles and a rowing machine. Even as the first two were eventually shelved, the rowing machine almost immediately took all their attention. Helped by the expertise of their bicycle mechanic associate John Williams, the Dreissigackers launched their first Concept 2 rowing machine in 1981. Th Dreissigackers were a little nervous about how their new bicycle design will be received, although they had a lot of current customers to their carbon fiber oars business. This was not needen at all.
